Stakeholders win consultation role on energy-using products

The European Commission will have to seek the views of a consultation forum, including industry bodies and other stakeholders, before it drafts "implementing measures" on energy-using products (EuPs), following the Council of Ministers' agreement on a "common position" on the EuPs Directive in November. But industry was disappointed that provisions requiring regular testing of products for sale, to ensure they meet new standards, were not adopted.
