Thames Water fined over preventable sewage spill

Thames Water was fined £7,000 with costs of £1,802 on 6 December after a pumping station failure resulted in a discharge of sewage to the Dollis brook in Hendon, north London. The company appeared before Hendon magistrates to plead guilty to a charge under section 85(3) of the Water Resources Act 1991.
