Palm oil supply chain urged to halt rainforest destruction

Retailers and manufacturers of products ranging from lipstick and soap to margarine and biscuits are being asked to minimise the contribution which palm oil plantations make to rainforest destruction. Criteria for sustainable cultivation will be discussed at an international round table organised by WWF, while ISIS Asset Management plans to publish details on the sourcing policies of the major European players.
