Agency wins test case on landfill odour control

At a three-day hearing in May, magistrates rejected arguments by Waste Recycling Group subsidiary Waste Recycling (Central) that it had taken all possible steps to prevent odours escaping from one of its landfills. The case marks the first successful test of a new waste management licence condition relating to odour control.
