Packaging regime brings 'producer irresponsibility'

The UK packaging regime may not be such good value for money after all, according to evidence delivered to a waste policy conference in Cambridge in July. According to the analysis, unless the regime is reformed, local authorities will pay the lion's share of the costs of meeting EU recycling targets - and "producers" will continue to avoid responsibility for packaging waste.
