Home Office admits to 'illegal' timber procurement

The Home Office has admitted that it used uncertified and potentially illegally logged hardwood from Indonesia and Brazil at the site of its new offices in central London, contrary to Government policy, the House of Commons Environmental Audit Committee heard in July. The scandal has prompted the Government to publish its response to the Committee's report into timber procurement policy - almost one year late.
