Safety fears over human exposure to organotins
A European scientific committee has raised concerns that human exposure to organotin compounds may be high enough to cause immune or reproductive effects. The chemicals are widely used as biocides, pesticides and stabilisers in plastics like PVC. Children's exposure via toys suggest the issue may follow phthalates in becoming a subject of international consumer concern.
