Uncertainty grips waste oil market
Waste oil collectors are warning that their markets are under threat as roadstone plants and coal-fired power stations weigh up the cost of continuing to burn waste oil under controls on incineration soon to be imposed under EU law. With scant evidence that oil recycling is about to take off, collectors may have to pay cement companies to burn waste oil - with the likely consequence that some smaller garages will turn to illegal outlets.
