Learning from the past

Teeth will have been set grating in some trade associations by the new Green Alliance report which accuses them of playing an unduly negative role in environmental policy-making (see pp 3-4 ). The report's case studies may or may not all be well justified - but its central call for a more constructive approach to policy debates, with progressive businesses actively seeking opportunities for joint advocacy with environmental organisations, is well aimed.
