Coalite pins hopes for future on oil fuel from waste tyres

Coalite's plans to diversify into dealing with waste tyres have been thrown a temporary lifeline by the Environment Agency, which has permitted it to use oil from pyrolysis of waste tyres as a fuel while it seeks customers for the material. However, by the end of 2005 use of the oil will be restricted by tough emission limits set by the EU Directive on waste incineration.
