Anglian refocuses sewage sludge strategy on farmland

Anglian Water has dropped its ambitious plans for gasifying sewage and is now concentrating on land spreading for the vast majority of its sludge arisings. Increasing farmer interest in sludge, the flexibility gained by drying sludge and the high costs of alternatives have overturned the company's earlier goal of reducing its dependence on the agricultural recycling route.
