Foundry clean-up linked to drop in asthma
Hospital admissions from asthma fell by a third after emission abatement equipment was fitted to an iron foundry in the West Midlands, medical researchers have found. The Health Protection Agency hopes to extend the study to see if the same effect can be demonstrated at other foundries and industrial plant.
