Policy on particles back in the melting pot

Future air quality objectives for fine particulates look likely to be focused on the smaller, more toxic particles which are most closely associated with combustion processes. Meanwhile, research for the Environment Department has suggested that metal content may play an important role in causing particles' adverse health effects.
