New flame retardant found in sediment, sludge and air

Swedish researchers have reported finding a new brominated flame retardant - decabromodiphenyl ethane (DeBDethane) - in environmental samples for the first time.1 The findings were reported at the Dioxin 2003 conference in Boston in August.
