Disney tests market for disposable DVDs

Walt Disney has begun a trial of DVDs which are designed to stop functioning after 48 hours. Disney and the technology developers Flexplay say they will encourage consumers to recycle the DVDs. But environmental groups predict this is unlikely to happen, describing the concept as "unintelligent" and likely to thwart waste minimisation efforts.
