Chipboard producer fined £37,500 for persistent water pollution

Portuguese-owned chipboard producer Sonae UK has been ordered to pay over £40,000 after repeated discharges from its Kirkby site cleared a local watercourse of aquatic life. The Environment Agency said the incidents were all foreseeable and preventable.
