Small service stations to escape LAPPC

The Environment Department (DEFRA) has notified councils that it intends to exempt small petrol stations, which receive between 100-500m3 of petrol in any 12 month period, from regulation for emissions to air under pollution prevention and control (LAPPC).

Such processes were due to be permitted at the end of 2004. A formal consultation paper will be published early in 2004.
