Round Table on Sustainable Development starts work

The UK Round Table on Sustainable Development held its inaugural meeting in January after a year of consultation. The heads of four environmental groups lent the initiative added credibility by agreeing to participate after wresting some last-minute concessions from the Government on the Table's objectives. Its agenda will be clarified in April.
