Slow improvement in Scotland's drinking water
The microbiological quality of Scotland's drinking water is not being improved sufficiently quickly, according to the Scottish Office. Its annual report for 1993 records a slight improvement in standards, but reveals that poor microbiological quality remains a chronic problem in many small rural supplies, while some authorities are still not meeting statutory sampling requirements.1
