MPs hear industry attack on costs of solvent controls
Industry faces a bill of up to £12 billion to control solvent emissions under existing UK legislation and a proposed EC Directive, the Chemical Industries Association (CIA) has told the House of Commons Environment Committee. However, the Committee's specialist advisers have told its inquiry into volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that industry's complaints are being overstated.
