New grants for industry to participate in EMAS

A new grant scheme is to be introduced in May to encourage smaller manufacturing businesses to participate in the EC eco-management and audit scheme (EMAS). It will replace an existing scheme which formed a small and not very successful part of the Government's strategy for reducing carbon dioxide emissions.
