Chemical risks group proposes costing life and the environment
A UK Government/industry advisory group has proposed that financial values should be attached to facets of the environment and human life in some regulatory decisions on hazardous chemicals. In a challenge to the precautionary principle, the controversial proposal is intended to influence an EC programme to evaluate the risks posed by thousands of older chemicals.
