Failure to maintain sewerage system

The Criminal Division of the Court of Appeal has recently given further guidance on the nature of water pollution offences in a decision that adds to the burgeoning amount of recent case-law concerning this area of law. The result will strengthen the hand of the National Rivers Authority and increase the pressure on sewerage undertakers and others to ensure that their equipment is properly maintained.
