Another two waste rogues sent to prison
An East London man who dumped a load of hazardous waste in a residential street and a Yorkshireman who persistently flouted the law in operating a landfill and waste transfer business were both sent to jail in February. Three men have now been imprisoned for waste offences this year, continuing the recent trend in which the courts have broken with their traditional reluctance to impose jail sentences for environmental offences.
