Advances in feedstock recovery from plastics waste

Chemical conversion of waste plastics back to raw materials is attracting growing interest from plastics manufacturers as an alternative to mechanical recycling and incineration with energy recovery. At least five development projects for feedstock recovery technology are under way in Europe, and in the UK BP Chemicals has unveiled plans for a new pilot plant at its Grangemouth site in Scotland.
