DoE's tentative move on green purchasing

An environmental guide for suppliers selling goods and services to the Department of the Environment (DoE) was launched at the end of December. In the name of deregulation it has purposely been couched in general terms, suggesting that the DoE's suppliers will not be pushed so hard to demonstrate sound environmental performance as in some "greening the supply chain" initiatives in the private sector.
