MPs hear demands for national waste strategy
A national waste strategy is needed to promote waste minimisation and recycling - and the emphasis should be firmly on industrial, commercial and mining wastes rather than domestic refuse, the House of Commons Environment Committee has been told by waste managers. Its inquiry into recycling also heard conflicting evidence on the merits of a tax on primary aggregates.
