Environmental laws escape deregulation cull - for now
The Government's deregulation Bill, which entered Parliament in January, will make only a limited impact on environmental legislation - at least initially. But the procedure for repealing or amending existing laws enshrined in the Bill would enable the Government to cull legislation at a later date with limited parliamentary scrutiny of the balance of costs and benefits involved.
