A review of continuous monitoring instrumentation for air emissions from large combustion plant (LCP), carried out for HM Inspectorate of Pollution (HMIP) by consultants Cremer & Warner, has highlighted gaps in current monitoring policy.1 The choice of monitor and degree of oversight of location and quality control have been much more strictly controlled in Germany and the USA.
