  • The UK subsidiary of paper company Kimberly-Clark will not be renewing its contract with logging company MacMillan Bloedel. The logging firm has been implicated in the controversial clear-cut logging of the threatened old-growth forests of Clayoquot Sound in Vancouver Island, Canada. The decision was taken for "commercial" reasons - although Scott was more explicit in the cancellation of its contract with MacMillan last month (ENDS Report 229, p 5 ).
