  • A $15-25 million plant to recycle process waste streams using catalytic extraction processing technology is to be built by Molten Metal Technology (ENDS Report 204, pp 9-10 ) for Hoechst-Celanese in Texas - a first for a chemical firm. The hazardous and non-hazardous wastes are passed into a molten metal bath at 1,500-1,800°C to reduce the pollutants to their elemental constituents, producing a synthetic gas which Hoechst-Celanese will buy.
