  • Contracts for two new sewage sludge incinerators at Thames Water's Beckton and Crossness sewage works have been awarded to an engineering consortium of AMEC and LURGI. The incinerators will have a combined capacity of 480,000 tonnes of dewatered sludge per year and recover the heat to used to generate 13MW of electrical energy.
