Mersey anglers eating unfit fish

Most anglers fishing the Mersey estuary and Liverpool Bay are consuming fish which are unfit to eat, a National Rivers Authority (NRA) survey has found. Mercury and lead levels in fish are above statutory health and environmental limits due to past industrial discharges to the estuary.
