Consultants act to improve quality of contaminated land services

In an attempt to raise standards of advice on contaminated land assessment and remediation, the Association of Environmental Consultancies (AEC) is about to issue a code of practice for "registered contaminated land consultants" (RCLCs). Clients will have access to a database of information on RCLCs. However, the scheme is open only to AEC members, and there are no immediate plans for independent checks on the quality of their services.
