Greenpeace's expensive lessons over ICI prosecutions
Greenpeace has been ordered to pay £29,000 in costs to ICI after losing two private prosecutions over alleged water pollution by the company. The cases failed on analytical and technical difficulties - leaving the legality of discharges of compounds not explicitly covered by consents undecided.
