QA firms queue up for environmental systems work

A trial has started to test the criteria against which certifiers for the environmental management standard BS7750 and verifiers for the EC Regulation on eco-management and audit (EMA) will be assessed. Most of the trialists come from a quality assurance background, but the National Accreditation Council for Certification Bodies (NACCB) says it is aiming to ensure that accredited bodies have the environmental expertise needed to judge the effectiveness of companies' management systems.
