HMIP awards first contracts for monitoring under IPC

More than three years since the launch of integrated pollution control (IPC) and after a year's delay caused by financial constraints, HM Inspectorate of Pollution (HMIP) has awarded its first long-term contracts for monitoring releases from sectors controlled under IPC. The first sectors are chemical waste incinerators and power stations, with another two due to follow by the end of the year.
