NRA reports drop in compliance, prosecutions, estuary quality

Sewage works' compliance with their discharge consents deteriorated in 1993/4, according to the National Rivers Authority's latest annual report.1 The NRA took fewer pollution prosecutions during the year. Other highlights include a deterioration in estuarine quality and a reduction in the number of serious pollution incidents.
