Blow for HFC producers as Electrolux opts for isobutane

Leading white goods manufacturer Electrolux has announced that by the end of next year all models marketed in Europe will use isobutane refrigerant in place of ozone-depleting CFCs. The firm has decided not to continue using HFC-134a - the replacement offered by former CFC producers which has attracted regulatory scrutiny because of its high global warming potential.
