Scrap industry makes headway over waste rules

The scrap metal industry appears confident that it will win exemptions from waste management licensing after being given its third temporary exemption within two years from the controls introduced by the Environmental Protection Act 1990. The Government's move has provoked strong criticism from the waste management industry.
