Now one conviction per week for "efficient" water company

North West Water (NWW), claimed by water regulator OFWAT to be one of the two most efficient sewerage businesses in England and Wales, was prosecuted successfully for four sewage pollution offences in a four-week period to late September. It has now clocked up a remarkable 11 convictions for water pollution during 1994.
