Chemical firms on receiving end of HMIP enforcement action

The environmental performance of the chemical industry has been put under the spotlight as existing processes in the sector have come under integrated pollution control (IPC). Enforcement notices have been served on more than a dozen companies by HM Inspectorate of Pollution (HMIP) since July in response to a rash of pollution incidents.
