Metals industry gears up for IPC
The metals industry is preparing nervously to come under integrated pollution control (IPC) next year. The British Non-ferrous Metals Federation (BNMF) says its members are struggling to quantify their releases - but it broadly accepts the need to assess environmental impact and process options, while British Steel is taking a more negative stance on the issue. The industry is united in objecting to being charged for HMIP's monitoring visits.
