Castle Cement gets go-ahead for more Cemfuel trials
Castle Cement has won permission from HM Inspectorate of Pollution (HMIP) to begin test burns of Cemfuel, the controversial fuel blended from industrial waste, at its Ketton site in Rutland. Rugby Cement, meanwhile, claims that unless HMIP allows it to continue burning waste fuel once emission tests at its Barrington works are completed, it may be forced to abandon the option completely.
