Incinerator study questions dioxin guidelines
A study of incinerator emissions sponsored by the Department of Trade and Industry has found that official design and operational guidelines intended to minimise dioxin formation may be inappropriate.1 Formation of the pollutants in working incinerators is much more complex than laboratory tests suggest, and the fundamentals of dioxin formation are still not fully understood.
