Free traders put pressure on EC eco-labelling scheme

The EC's eco-labelling scheme is under pressure to open up its criteria-setting process to manufacturers in other countries in order to avoid creating trade barriers. Also on the horizon are an international standard and guidelines for eco-labelling, and plans for countries to recognise each other's schemes on the basis of equivalent criteria.
