Blue Circle in hot water over clinical waste incinerators

Two clinical waste incinerators operated by Blue Circle subsidiaries have been on the sharp end of enforcement action by HM Inspectorate of Pollution (HMIP). One plant in north London had been refurbished following a short but troubled history - only to be shut down immediately after recommissioning when very high emissions were recorded. And a similar plant in the Midlands has been ordered to shut down after just two weeks in operation.
