Caustic soda spill costs Dairy Crest £200,000
Dairy Crest has escaped with a £2,000 fine after causing the deaths of 11,000 fish in the river Ellen in Cumbria earlier this year. But pollution prevention measures, compensation payments and restocking costs have cost it almost £200,000.
