Research grants home in on VOC abatement

Seven new grants worth over £1 million have been awarded by the Government under its Environmental Technology and Innovation Scheme (ETIS). The latest batch of projects place a strong emphasis on novel techniques for reducing emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Launched in October 1990, ETIS is run jointly by the Department of the Environment (DoE) and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI). The scheme offers grant-aid of up to 50% of costs for pre-competitive collaborative projects.
