Renewable energy's future blowing in the wind
As much as 20% of the UK's current electricity demand could be supplied by renewable energy by 2025, according to the Government's Renewable Energy Advisory Group (REAG).1 Its report has disappointed the renewables industry and environmental groups by recommending only a 50% increase in the official target for renewables capacity by the end of the century - but they have generally welcomed its proposals for changes in the support arrangements for the renewables.
