Renewable energy's future blowing in the wind

As much as 20% of the UK's current electricity demand could be supplied by renewable energy by 2025, according to the Government's Renewable Energy Advisory Group (REAG).¹ Its report has disappointed the renewables industry and environmental groups by recommending only a 50% increase in the official target for renewables capacity by the end of the century - but they have generally welcomed its proposals for changes in the support arrangements for the renewables.
